Good Morning! With Spring Break upon us it seems like the perfect time to scramble for something cool to take the company to or get the family together for.
Easier said than done.
I’ve said it probably way too much. But, Spring is one of the most amazing times of the year on Vancouver Island. There’s no place where it’s more celebrated in so many family-friendly and fun ways as The Brant Wildlife Festival in Parksville.

For about six weeks every year the diminutive Brant Goose and the entourage that comes with this cool bird stops by the East Coast of the island to feed on spawning herring on the migratory path from California to Alaska.
Those of us on land get the chance to hit the trail, the beach and get togther to learn about and appreciate this annual event in nature.
You can check out the Brant Festival blog for a bit of a schedule or download the full one HERE.

It’s not just about birds (although up to 20,000 descend upon the coast every March). There are some fantastic programs like one on Mason Bees, Kids Camps, nature walks with stories and intertidal tours.
For moms and dads, there’s a wildlife and winery tour as well as as nature and artisans tour.
We are seriously looking forward to The Natural Treasures Family Day and, of course, the Hamilton Marsh Easter Tour.
The beauty of it all is that it’s more than a month worth of fantastic chances to get out and experience the Brants for yourselves.
So, no excuses, get out there and check out Spring – Vancouver Island style.
