Come and Celebrate Community with Cupcakes

Posted by Robin Rivers on May 17th, 2009 3 Comments Printer-Friendly

I have to start this one out with a big, gushy moment. I love you guys. Seriously, you are inspiring.

There is a purposefulness about all of you that I want to forever linger in – that warmth, sense of place, community and love for others is unmatched and I am so very grateful to connect with you on a daily basis.

The wonderful Karen McKinnon and I often chat about how we owe our passion and drive for work to the amazing folks who bring so much heart to our daily lives, including the sweet and lovely Jen Evans from Sugar Heads Cupcakes.

So, we figured it was time to say thank you to all of you with the annual Today Party.

Next Saturday, May 23, we invite all of you out to this fun FREE community event with CUPCAKES.

Kiddos of all ages can come out between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to decorate cupcakes to take to someone special. There will also be cupcakes to eat (for a nominal fee), some mural making and hanging out with friends old and new.

Cupcakes are such a great way to have fun while helping kids learn the value of giving a special treat to someone sweet.

The added bonus is that it’s at Karen’s new studio at 4th Street and Cliffe Avenue (behind Brambles) in Courtenay. So, you get to check out her super cool work space too.

Karen, Jen and I are always super excited to host a cupcake fest, especially as our Today Present for all of you.

Cupcakes seem like the least we can do for the great crew of parents that make the Comox Valley such an amazing place!

The Today Party!

When: Saturday, May 23

Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: McKinnon Photography, 4th Street and Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay (entrance is in the parking lot behind Brambles)

Why: Just because

Cost: Cupcake decorating is FREE. There is a nominal fee for cupcakes to eat.
