Nurture Your Inner Diva at Flawless Beauty Bar

Posted by Robin Rivers on June 8th, 2009 3 Comments Printer-Friendly

Good morning. I’d been ready for the last week or so to do a Monday Morning Mom’s poll about lipstick this morning. Then, lovely OBE mama Kindle left me a little bath-related surprise at the new Flawless Beauty Bar in downtown Courtenay.

Not knowing what to expect, I wandered in with the scent-loving 3.75-year-old and both of us instantly knew we would be nurturing our inner divas at that very spot for a long time to come.

Owner Jaime Pearson is as charming, mod and fun as all of her girlie gear combined and her patience with tiny people was, as usual, tested by my girl who decided that she needed to smell EVERYTHING in the store.

It’s not even a closet thing for me, I L-O-V-E anything that makes me smell, look and feel gorgeous.

When it’s got that great, urban funk factor in the mix…well, I may not be allowed to hang out at Jaime’s place too often for fear that I’d replace our food budget with my lotions and potions budget:).

While the tiny person ensured that our visit was far too brief and I ended up not buying anything for myself (Ken has trained her well), I am totally headed back for the Aquolina line of all things that smell like cotton candy. I need a little sugar in my life and this is the perfect combo of sassy and sweet. There’s also a chocolover line that smells delish.

We did end up with some Cake gear in the form of lip butter for the tiny person. I am TOTALLY heading back for the more adult line including the Sweet Cheeks line that makes me feel like a star.

I’m also mixing up book club this month by scheduling us a Pedi Party at Flawless. Read the book, meh. Get your toes done, Yay! Talk to Jaime and she can hook you up for private events too.

I will admit that I turned and ran when I saw the line of body lotions with pheromones (that’s just trouble in a pretty package).:)

But, we cannot leave today without chatting about lipstick.

I mean, seriously, how can any woman resist the perfect shade that makes you feel perfectly sexy?

I am not the first or the last to think The Balm is the bomb. These lip stains stay on through just about everything motherhood can dish out, come in just about every gorgeous shade out there and, well, Jaime has stocked the Comox Valley to make sure we are all running around looking our own version of super hot.

OK, I’m breathing heavy now.

So, head on over to Flawless at 101-307 5th Street in downtown Courtenay. The entrance is actually on Duncan.

It’s definitely time to go nurture your inner diva.

ooooo looks fun! i am on the hunt for nailpolish I can feel comfortable using. Lucie and I need to have a girly session of painting her nails for the first time. She is really getting into hair accessories so we are ready to move onto the next step :0 a big step coming from the momma who has always been one of the boys and didn’t wear pink until I had Lulu. Taping into my inner girly-ness I guess. never say never!
