OBE Meets Pumpkin Patch

Good afternoon! If you missed the morning post, Wendy Johnstone offered some wonderful insight into aging with dignity. You can find her post HERE.

The Our Big Earth crew had a fantastic time collecting pumpkins, checking out the spooky barn and chasing chickens yesterday as we headed out to Shamrock Farms for the annual OBE Pumpkin Patch Party.

Mother Nature and I had our chat about making sure the weather is spectacular for OBE events and, boom, holy amazing Fall morning. We had so many new faces out for this fantastic fun this year, I loved getting to know folks and meeting their tiny people, many for the first time.

The kids, well, what can I say? They were absolutely hilarious in the barnyard checking out the extra-friendly chickens and making sure they had picked the most perfect pumpkin for themselves.

Our host Shannon was as gracious and warm as ever, making sure the crew had lots of room to roam and freedom to check out the farm in their own sort of way.

Thanks so much to Shannon and Shamrock for hosting us and thanks too to the awesome crew that made our pumpkin party a great success.

Check out all of the photos from the day HERE.

Wonderful, thank you Robin! For anyone farther south in the Ladysmith area, McNab’s Farm in Yellow Point also has a great hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out that special pumpkin, an extensive corn maze to get lost in (in the shape of a train, no less) or at least delight and poop out the kids at the same time, some baby animals to get to know, and a lovely picnic area. They are such nice folks, sharing their love of agriculture and the fruits of their labour of love with the community. My kids and I have gone twice and hope to go again before they close for the season at end of Oct.

Can I just make a funny comment about one of the pics…
It looks like that cute little boy just gave birth to a pumpkin…adorable!
    Thanks for the lovely event!
