Motherhood, it changes you.

While there’s a whole list that involves sagging and wrinkled, exhausted and emotional that can be wrapped in there, for many women becoming a Mom takes life to a whole other level.

It brings out our genuine loves, forces them into places creatively and personally that reveal talents and ingenuity unrealized until that point.

It inspires.

Moms see a need and create the solution.

So, with this monthly series we celebrate the genius of Comox Valley women who turn the lessons of parenthood into a resource for the community.

We celebrate local mom entreprenuers.

My many wonderful ideas and feed back from our Community. We started very small inside the old Zen Zero Lifestyle Store, which I had been managing. It all just worked out so perfectly!

Exactly that, BALANCE. I am an excellent multi-tasker, thank goodness! But defiantly finding the ME time. I’m lucky that I have a little one who loves to help in the garden and with the creation of our botanicals!

Were do I start? A private yoga class would be so lovely, followed by an aromatherapy soak, a holistic spa treatment or two; some freshly squeezed juice and a beautiful wander threw the woods… simply divine!

Living the life and walking the talk. Word of mouth and networking. Once our customers have worn our clothing their body falls in love with the feeling of natural fibers next to their skin and they share that with all their friends.

I personally love to inform, share and guide people to a healthier, greener lifestyle. I find it easy to talk about what I am passionate about and am always wearing Eco~Centric fashions, allowing people to feel and see that sustainability can be stylish and fun too!

It takes money and lots of it to make money. And you can’t just call in sick because you don’t feel like working.

The biggest success? Having many wonderful regular customers and hearing their beautiful comments when they enter our boutique. Growing large enough to move into our own new location! Creating my own reality and loving my job.

Honestly it all just happened so fast, like things do when they are meant to be! We called upon some of our good friends who are owners of prospering businesses and they were able to guide us in all the right directions.

I try to work only four days per week giving us three days together and I try to not bring work home with me. It definitely does get tricky especially since we are a part of an amazing community with lots of great events to be a part of, so sometimes I just have to bring them with me!

I do not wish to dominate the world. I believe in community! Gathering wonderful people in beautiful places where we can all work together for the good of us all.

Make sure you have supportive family and friends and find the best child care ever – you are going to need all of their help. Having a business is full on. It’s like having another baby! Make sure it is something that you are passionate about so you enjoy yourself. Remember it is more work than you think.

Free workshops for Women in Business on marketing, accounting, book keeping and all that fun stuff.
