An Early Welcome to SHIFT News

Posted by Robin Rivers on November 14th, 2009 4 Comments Printer-Friendly

Good Evening.

While we await the launch of our first SHIFT News piece by Comox Valley journalist Colleen Dane, I wanted to welcome you personally to the investigative journalism arm of Our Big Earth.

This section replaces our Product Reviews. We will continue to check out products and pass along ones we love. But, they will now show up in the feature areas that relate best to a given product. If we’ve got a cool find that’s about greening your home, you’ll find it in Green-e-ology. Baby and kids gear has a home over in BUMPS now. Learning tools can be found over in our Kid-Led Learning section and toys have made their way to Creative Kids.

This allows OBE to now build a dedicated space for investigative journalism that reaches beyond the press release.

As SHIFT News grows, you’ll have the opportunity to dig in to some of the hottest issues in the Comox Valley and across B.C. that effect our day-to-day lives on a very base level.

SHIFT News will be home to the voices of professional journalists who strive to create a conversation with people rather than deliver information from point A to point B. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the evolution of our community together.

We encourage healthy debate and community input.

Let us know what you want to hear about. Is there an issue in the Valley that you think needs digging into? Is there a topic that you feel needs more attention?

You can leave a comment here or e-mail the editors at shiftnews@ourbigearth.com

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to check everything out.

Have a great evening!

Robin

    Brilliant!

Bet it gets controversial (in a nice and polite way) and I can hardly wait.

More cheers for the OBE team!
