Product Review – Pregnancy Advent Calendars

| March 8, 2010 | 2 Comments

I have several friends who have recently announced that they are expecting and one asked me about where to find a cool pregnancy calendar that wasn’t the typical “200 days to go” sort of electronic countdown.

I went hunting for the perfect alternative and found the most gorgeous keepsake countdown ever from Julaan Creations, made right here in British Columbia.

A pregnancy advent calendar, this beautiful creation gives you something to look forward to each week, getting you that much closer to meeting the new tiny person in your life. How it works is that you have a little door to open for each week and inside is a bead to add to a sweet keepsake bracelet that will be ready to wear about the same time that the baby arrives.

It makes me cry just thinking about it.

Then, to add to it all, there is a really sweet Sibling Calendar that is all about giving your other children a chance to celebrate and countdown each week as well. Each window your child opens has a sticker and a question that can spark discussion between the family about many of the questions that older siblings have.

Complete sweetness.

At $49.99 and $24.99 respectively, they aren’t your average chocolate-filled advent calendar. But, what great treasures to keep for a lifetime and help everyone with the transition of adding a new tiny person to the crew. It’s a tough challenge to come up with great, unusual ways to involve the whole family in a pregnancy. This one really hits the mark.

You can buy them online at Julaan.com or check their retailer page, if you’re going to be out around the province and looking to pick one up (they carry them at Victoria General Hospital).
