Crush of the Month – RW Knudsen Spritzers
Happy Monday! Do you ever go through deep and meaningful love phases with things in your life? I get some very serious crushes. Just ask Ken who has seen me watch the same movie every day for two weeks straight, eat the same thing for lunch for a month or fall head over heals for a color that changes the entire palate of the house for a season or two.
Today, we kick off the Crush of the Month column where you get to peek deep into my obsessive psyche to see what I sneak off in the middle of the – well, whenever – to crush on.
Lately, I’m having a not-so-secret love affair with Knudsen Organic Spritzers.

I love carbonated drinks. But, commercial sodas are packed with crap – to put it delicately. When 90% of the ingredients are not made in nature, I figure I better not drink it – especially with the sensitive stomach and the need to stay healthy of a pregnant woman.
Fruit juice and mineral water is a great alternative. But, let’s face it, sometimes it just needs to be fast and easy. So, when these guys popped up on the grocery store shelf touting real juice, no added sugar or additives, I gave them a shot and am now pretty much can’t help myself.
I personally L-O-V-E the raspberry and tangerine. Our daughter thinks that an occasional treat of a cherry spritzer is the highlight of her week.
The only downside for me is that I can only find them in single-serving cans – which bugs me as it means something for the recycle bin every time I have a drink. So, I try to limit myself to one or two a week – which is seriously challenging for a woman in love.
Is it reasonable to be crushing hard on a drink? Well, in my universe it’s better than crushing on camera gear or shoes – at least a little easier on the pocketbook anyway.
So, three cheers for Knudsen Spritzers. I have to go send Ken off to the store now!

I love the Jamaican lemonade. I get it as a special treat from QF every once in a while on my Daily Special. I agree though, they should have it in a 1 litre or 2 litre bottle.
I used to love these drinks. Recently, they changed the design of the cans and the recipe/formula too. The new ones taste watered down and artificial to me, nothing like the original. Mind you, they are still free from crap, but I just can’t get excited about the new taste and have gone in search of something else.
I used to buy R.W. Knudsen’s concentrated cranberry and black cherry for years but they have started watering them down. And, I know they are doing the same thing with these products. So I won’t be supporting this company anymore.
