A Season of Generosity from Two Local Businesses

| November 8, 2011 | 2 Comments

The spirit of giving throughout the year is something that I truly love about the people of the Comox Valley. But, as the Winter holidays settle in, they bring out some extra magic and sense of generosity in folks. Two local businesses have teamed up this year to make sure that kids who might not otherwise have a whole lot under the tree this year get some great goodies.

McKinnon Photography’s Karen McKinnon and Planet Kids’ Pam Watson have gotten into the holiday spirit a bit early and launched a fun, warm and community-minded initiative to fill Comox Valley’s Santas Workshop with toys.

Each year Santa’s Workshop sets up in a local warehouse where elves work hard to clean and package toys that are distributed to children. Although they accept gently-used toys, each child they support receives at least one new toy.

Throughout the month of November, families can purchase any sized toy, game or item of clothing for Santa’s Workshop at Planet Kids and receive 25% off that purchase. They can do this at any of Planet Kids three locations: Comox, Downtown Courtenay and the Driftwood Mall.

When a customer purchases a toy for Santa’s workshop, they will be entered to win a Photo Package unlike any other that McKinnon Photography has ever given away.

As well as the photo session, the recipient will receive a large and small framed wall print, a custom album, and gift prints. That is a serious wow, folks.

So, if you are working on ways to give back to the community and help families out this year, head on over to Planet Kids to score some great toys for Santa’s Workshop. Then, you too might just be the recipient of some Christmas magic of your own from McKinnon Photography.
