Our Big Earth hosts four seasonal walk series annually as part of its community NeighbourWood Walks program. Families jump in and explore nature together, learning new ways to play, experience the outdoors and connect with each other (there are LOTS of new friendships made) while checking out amazing locales across the region.

The schedule for the Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 NeighbourWood Walks is now available.

All walks are at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and are open to kids and families of all ages. See the schedule below for dates and locations. You can pre-register for the Fall 2010 walks by filling out the registration form HERE. After registering, you will get updates on walks, schedules and other information to keep your family active and having fun outdoors all year long.

Sept. 8 – Mack Laing Nature Park

Sept. 22 – Oyster River Nature Park

Sept. 30 – Tsolum River

Oct. 6 – Shamrock Farms Pumpkin Patch (come and pick your pumpkins out)

Oct. 13 -Puntledge River Fish Hatchery

Oct. 20 – Morrison Creek

Oct. 27 – Lazo Marsh costume walk

Winter 2011

Jan. 12 – Lazo Marsh (bring seeds to feed the birds)

Jan. 19 – MacDonald Woods Nature Park

Jan. 26  – Seal Bay Swamp Loop (a witches butter walk)

Feb. 2 – Puntledge Park Loop

Feb. 9 – TBD

Feb. 16 – Oyster River Nature Park

Feb. 23 – TBD

March 2 – The Filberg Lodge and Park
