The Wealthy School Revolution
As every parent with school-aged kids knows, we are called upon regularly to help bolster funding for our kid’s education for everything from gym equipment to sports programs.
Candy bars, cookies and hot dogs are great. But, what if you could give back to your local schools every time you went grocery shopping in a way that’s convenient, easy and community-minded.
Vancouver parents Sarah and Darryl Davis have created a way to do just that with the Wealthy School Revolution.
Parents at schools that join the Wealthy School Revolution can shop online for over 2000 healthy and organic, non-perishable grocery items that are delivered to the school bi-monthly for pick up. WSR saves and passes the 20% savings to the school. It takes no time for a school PAC to manage, and can generate thousands of dollars with the simple act of grocery shopping. Fund-raising made easy? Mind blowing.
If 100 families spent $50 on noodles or diapers per month for the 10 months of each school year, the school would earn $10,000. And WSR prices are competitive too. This would mean funding would be available for so many important things that local students may not currently have access to.
The Wealthy School Revolution was launched in February 2011 with 8 schools. Today they have 62 schools on board across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, revolutionizing fund raising across North America.
